April 15, 2015. 22:03. Exact date and time my artistic self came alive!!!
I’ve been planning on changing my header for months now but I just never had the time and imagination to create one I would actually like.
For almost 6 months, this one’s the header I’ve been using:
I know what you’re thinking, and I mean, I KNOW RIGHT?! I don’t actually hate it, but it’s so dull and plain and boring and sad (like me…). But tonight, change is coming! I’m kidding. Ha.
Okay, now, the reveal…
TADAAAAA!!!!! Nothing special, but I absolutely LOVE it.
On the process of making this, here’s everything you need to know:
- I always use Adobe Photoshop in creating my blog titles and everything else. I’ve been experimenting since I was 9 years old so believe me when I say practice makes perfect!
- The font I used is called Besom. It’s available for free use but you have to donate at least $1 to the artists before downloading. So totally worth it!
- The leaves and gold crown-ish bits were hand-drawn by me using a Wacom tablet. This is the first time I used the tablet and it was kind of difficult to get used to, but it works really well.
- The whole process took me about 2-3 hours. From looking for the perfect brush, the perfect font (oh god this was the hardest part), adjusting the brush to its right angle, picking the right colours, etc.
In the end, I’m pretty satisfied with how my new header turned out. You can head to my blog now and tell me how it is!
I’m finally on Bloglovin’! With Bloglovin’, you can easily view blog updates of those you follow and keep track of your following. You can follow me there if you want to (I beg), so if you’re on Bloglovin’ as well make sure to let me know in the comments below so I could follow you back!
That’s all for tonight, friends. Thanks for reading!
