Favourites, Bookstagram, Literary Careers, and more!
1. Tell us a bit about yourself.
One thing about me, I’m a dreamer. Aside from reading, I love performing arts. I have always wanted to become a ballerina and a broadway singer. If you ask me what my favourite TV series is, I’d say ‘The Walking Dead’ in a heartbeat. My hobbies include talking about dogs and talking to dogs. My worst nightmare is clowns. Let’s not talk about that. . .
2. When did you start your blog and why?
I started this blog in August 2015 but never really had the guts to make it public until late October of the same year. I have a Bookstagram account, which I love with all my heart, that I started in August 2014.
Bookstagram is a term coined by booklions to refer to an Instagram account created solely to showcase their [the booklions’] love for books.
e.g. A Bookstagram account; The Bookstagram community
Get it? Okay, let’s proceed.
I’ve always loved updating my reading progress and posting reviews on Goodreads. On one of my reviews, a Goodreads friends commented:
“Thank you for having common sense AND being so damn articulate about everything. You’re my new favorite person.”
. . . and that hit me! It made me realise that there’s no reason to be afraid of doing something I sure would be enjoying.
I created this blog because I love books and talking about books, not because of the perks of having one.
3. Why “P A P E R & T R E E S”?
“Paper” represents my love for books and writing. “Trees” represents my love for nature.
I thought it was beautiful and ironic how these two relate, and that’s how I came up with the blog title. There’s not much meaning behind it, but it sure does sound poetic. Am I right?
